Experience

After beginning to play piano at the age of seven, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Caldwell University (2000). My studies were focused in classical music. I have over thirty years piano playing and performing experience in a variety of musical styles. With teaching piano on and off since 2005, things began to really pick up steam in 2015 and have been thriving since!

Immanuel Lutheran Church

I have served as the music director at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Suttons Bay, Michigan since 2015. Working with the choir and band; developing a repertoire, and deepening the skills to work better along-side ensembles and soloists alike.

Mash Up Rock and Roll Musical

Co-founded in 2013 with my wife Lesley Tye, Mash Up Rock & Roll Musical brings a unique and irreverent rock & roll theatre experience to Northern Michigan. We challenge our audiences and ourselves to move outside our perspectives. We produce new works that remix popular culture to entertain, celebrate, and question the society we live in. We write stories that promote inclusion and tolerance. We’re just a bunch of weirdos who believe there is a place for all of us in this world.

Rates

$30 / half Hour

Piano lessons are thirty minutes a session, and focus on the fundamentals of music theory, piano technique, as well as repertoire training and development.

Music styles include, but aren’t limited to classical, rock & roll, sacred, musical theatre, and improvisation.
